Licensed Ceremony Venue
Want an alternative to the4 traditional church wedding? The Wisteria Hotel is proudly licensed to host marriage and civil partnership ceremonies in our Barn Room, Barn Lounge, and Georgian Suite. We are an inclusive venue and proudly welcome civil partnership ceremony inquiries from the LGBTQIA+ community.
Our civil ceremonies are available seven days a week and offer a variety of personal touches, including:
• The option to be 'given away'
• Bridesmaids, flower girls, and page boys are welcome
• An opportunity to exchange personalized vows following the Statutory Declaratory and Contracting Words
• The option to exchange rings if desired
• Up to two non-religious readings of poetry or prose, performed by you or a guest
• Live or recorded music (strictly non-religious) before, during your entrance, and as you exit
Please note that as part of the civil ceremony process, you’ll have a brief separate interview with the registration officer before the ceremony, so be sure to allow time for this!
To book your Civil Ceremony, please follow these steps:

2. Contact us to check our availability
3. Complete the form on the Rutland County Council website to check the Registrar’s availability here
4. Confirm the date and time with both the Registrar and with us
