For an active experience, hire a bike from Rutland Cycling and pedal your way around the water. Families will love the inflatable Aqua Park and the chance to build sandcastles or take a dip at Rutland Water Beach at Sykes Lane. Feeling energetic?

Rutland Osprey Project
Have you heard about the Rutland Osprey Project? Thanks to a successful translocation programme, Rutland Water became home to the first ospreys to breed in England in over 150 years. These majestic birds can be observed from their arrival in spring after their migration from Africa, through to their departure in autumn.
Visit the Rutland Water Nature Reserve to learn more about these incredible creatures, watch them from the hides, or even tune into the Osprey Nest Webcam for a closer look. For a truly unique experience, hop aboard the Rutland Belle, which offers dedicated osprey cruises during the season!
Normanton Church
Normanton Church is the most iconic landmark of Rutland Water. Visitors are captivated by the sight of the church seemingly floating on the water, and many are intrigued to learn that the lost village of Nether Hambleton lies submerged beneath the surface. The church itself was saved from the rising waters when the village was flooded during the creation of the reservoir.

Rutland County Museum
Just next door to our hotel and with free admission, Rutland County Museum is a must-visit for both children and adults. The museum brings the county’s history to life through fascinating exhibits on archaeology, rural life, and social history.
